Tinplate is a metal composite material made of ultra-low carbon steel cold-rolle
Tinplate is a metal composite material made of ultra-low carbon steel cold-rolled to mirror finish coated with tin. This material combines the strength of iron with the corrosion resistance and ductility of tin, and has good sealing and preservation properties. Coated tinplate is on the basis of tinplate surface coated with epoxy resin or printed pattern (for food cans, beverage cans).
Core production step
1.Tinplate
● Tin plating on the substrate
Degreased pickling. After the lye was degreased (residual oil ≤20mg/m²), sulfuric acid (H2SO4) pickled removed the oxide layer
Tin plating: In acidic (pH 2-4) or alkaline electrolyte, current density 10-50A/dm², tin plating amount 0.4-15.1g/㎡ (single or double sided)
Reflow: The tin layer is heated and melted at 250-280℃ to form a bright surface (gloss ≥80%).
Passivation: Chromate treatment (Cr³ + 10-50mg/m²) prevents the yelishing of tin by oxidation
2.Printed Tinplate
● Primer Coating
Epoxy or polyester coating (thickness 3-5μm) for enhanced adhesion and corrosion resistance
● Printing
Use offset printing and UV printing to make it fast curing
● Topcoat
The combination of epoxy inner coating and acrylic outer coating makes the product acid resistant, sulfur resistant, anti-fingerprint and high gloss
