Stainless steel coil is a corrosion-resistant alloy coil based on Fe-chromium al
Stainless steel coil is a corrosion-resistant alloy coil based on Fe-chromium alloy (chromium content ≥10.5%), adding nickel, molybdenum, manganese and other elements. Its core properties come from the passivation film formed by chromium oxidation, which can resist oxidation, acid base and high temperature corrosion. According to the difference of microstructure and composition, it is divided into austenite, ferrite, martensite and other series.
Manufacturing Process
● Smelting
(EAF) or (AOD) smelting, precise control of carbon content (≤0.08%)
Add alloying elements (such as Ni, Mo) and vacuum degassing (VD) to reduce impurities (S≤0.03%, P≤0.045%)
● Continuous Casting & Hot Rolling
Slab casting, hot rolled to 2.0-12.7mm thick (hot rolled coil)
● Annealing & Pickling
Austenitic steel: 1050-1150℃ solution treatment, water quenching (eliminate carbide precipitation)
Ferritic steel: annealed at 800-900℃, air-cooled
Pickling of nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid mixture to remove the oxide (surface Ra≤0.6μm)
● Cold Rolling
Rolled to 0.1-6.0mm thickness (accuracy ±0.02mm), with bright annealing (BA) or wire drawing (HL) treatment
